Welcome to our nursery.
We are a 26 place nursery and are organised along LEEDS CITY COUNCIL guidelines in accordance with the government recommendations in the ‘Starting With Quality’ report. We aim to create a safe and stimulating environment where young children can learn and develop through challenging experiences. Our curriculum is based on the QCA’s Curriculum Guidance for the Foundation Stage.
All children are entitled to 15 hours of free nursery education from the start of the term after their 3rd birthday. From September 2017 children of parents who both work may be entitled to 30 free hours. Whether you take 15 or up to 30 hours we can offer these flexibly in order for them to fit in around your work commitments.
We have a light and airy indoor classroom and a beautiful outdoor space which children have direct access to every day.
The indoor area is divided into discrete working areas which include sand, water, paint, design, malleable materials, reading, maths, mark making, role play, movement, small world imaginative and IT. Children are encouraged to access the apparatus and materials they wish to use from the labelled baskets and shelves and to replace things they have finished with.
Outdoor we encourage the children to be active, to play collaboratively, to take risks and know their limitations. Part of the area is sheltered to enable us to play out whatever the weather!
The nursery is staffed by a teacher and a nursery nurse. Both are highly experienced, having worked with foundation stage children for many years.
Please check your child's 'hanging pocket' in the cloakroom regularly for nursery and school communications as well as your child's work. Thank you!
